Our bridge engineering team from IVIA Sp zoo joined a technical field trip organized as part of the Silesian Bridge School – at the invitation of INTERCOR - to closely observe the construction of some of the most demanding engineering structures in Poland.
During the visit, we learned about the specifics of an approximately 11-kilometer section running through the Dynów Foothills and the associated geotechnical challenges of the Carpathian flysch. We observed the construction of spectacular viaducts with piers reaching about 80 meters in height, built using the incremental launching and cantilever methods. Such experiences directly translate into our design practice.
We would like to thank the organizers and the construction hosts for the insightful discussions and the opportunity to observe best practices on a live project. We are keeping our fingers crossed for the successful completion of the S19 route within the Via Carpatia corridor.
